Victron MultiPlus-II — Advanced Inverter/Charger with PowerControl & PowerAssist

The MultiPlus-II builds on the proven MultiPlus inverter/charger platform and adds new capabilities for enhanced power management. With support for an external current sensor, it enables PowerControl and PowerAssist up to 50A and 100A, giving you more usable power from limited AC sources.

Designed for both off-grid and grid-connected systems, the MultiPlus-II integrates seamlessly with MPPT solar charge controllers and grid-tie PV inverters. With a growing list of international grid approvals, it is suitable for ESS (Energy Storage Systems) and can even feed excess energy back to the grid.

PowerControl & PowerAssist Explained

PowerControl
Ideal when using limited AC supply (e.g., small generator or shore power). Once a current limit is set, the MultiPlus-II automatically adjusts charging so that other loads always take priority — preventing overload.

PowerAssist
If demand temporarily exceeds available AC supply, the MultiPlus-II instantly adds power from the battery to make up the difference. When loads reduce, spare AC power is used to recharge the batteries. This allows:

• Smaller, more efficient generators to be used

• Peak loads to be handled effortlessly

Intelligent Adaptive Charging

Victron’s adaptive charge algorithm analyses battery condition and usage patterns, fine-tuning charging to maximise battery life. It includes:

• 3-stage automatic charging

• Storage mode (4th stage) to reduce battery maintenance when idle

• Second battery charging via independent trickle output

UPS Function

If grid or generator power fails, the inverter activates automatically and in less than 20 ms — fast enough that sensitive electronics like computers continue running without interruption.

Scalable System Design

• Up to 6 units in parallel for increased power output

• Supports three-phase installations

• Configurable up to 75 kW / 90 kVA inverter capacity and over 2000A charging

System setup is simplified using VEConfigure — no dip switches or hardware changes required.
